Maxcare is an absolute waste of fourth dimension and money! I am going through the claims process today 11-2-2020 and all they've done is deny me afterwards all the money I paid for the insurance. I purchased my vehicle through Carmax and asked for a bumper to bumper extended warranty which they guaranteed me maxcare was. Three months into the machine and the catalytic converter breaks...no coverage. One twelvemonth into the car and the battery doesn't work due to the moon roof having a short so it won't close causing h2o to leak onto my battery.
They won't cover my alternator existence completely broken considering of the battery saying they don't cover water harm. Even though the policy states it covers electrical issues. I inquire to speak to a supervisor and apparently the company only has ii that are all unavailable. They accuse an extra fifty dollars on your deductible if you choose your ain mechanic. The mechanics that are "in house" are all very far away as most mechanics specifically state they won't bargain with them every bit they frequently do denials and leave people hanging. DO Non BUY THIS. DO ANYTHING ELSE BUT Not MAXCARE. I'm calling the Ameliorate Business Agency!!

I purchased my vehicle in December of 2016 at Carmax in Merriam, Ks. They told me all the good stuff you lot want to hear and I even read the warranty. Keep in heed I have operated in the car business concern for 5 years myself. I bought the vehicle with 61,586 on the miles. Just striking 93,000. So 32k in 4 years and I live in Kansas mind you. Over the weekend I was driving in town and my driver side bulldoze axle snapped in one-half. I pay to have the vehicle towed to my testify. They meet that it snapped and let me know. So I contact Maxcare to file a claim and discover out well-nigh the reimbursement process. The starting time guy I spoke with was pretty nice but y'all could tell was kinda lost. He places me on agree while he types up his report. Comes back and asks me for my phone number. I provided my number.
A few minutes after his phone dropped the phone call and he never attempted to phone call me back (this was after 15 minutes on hold initially and then about 15 minutes with him on the telephone. I remember and expect 22 minutes before my call is taken. Called back to verify what else I needed to do and so I could become the claim moving and get my tow reimbursement. Detect out the first guy put the tow and the repair under unlike claim numbers. That was wrong then I provided my shop with the wrong number.
So I had to contact them with the repair number not the tow number I was told that was right. Then the CSR places me on agree for five-ten minutes and comes back telling me both him and the previous CSR told me incorrectly. That those were numbers they use internally and that I would go the actual merits # when it is approved. That when it was canonical I would demand to recall again to get the NPA sent out considering they take no procedure to automatically do information technology. I asked the guy to places notes to accept the claims adjuster transport it out when approved. He said they don't do it that fashion. He said" I can put notes in the claim but the adjuster probably won't exercise it". I went rounds about how inconvenient it was and how I am doing all the work for my warranty reimbursement and they don't practice ANYTHING! He just said "I understand" over and over with no provided solution or endeavor to salvage me the time.
I informed him I have spent over an hour of my day with them already. I don't have time to continue calling back and to sit on agree to have my phone call answered 20 minutes later. Only to get incorrect info both times. Again he could take cared less. And so comes the drive beam that snapped in half and the repair store contacted Maxcare to speak with the claims adjuster. Just to be told that information technology was denied subsequently the store sent them the moving-picture show showing it snapped. They said it rusted through. Information technology admittedly did Non rust through and just had some surface rust. The shop explained to them information technology was not a failure of the part due to rust, over and over. They denied the claim and I had to pay another $260 out of pocket later on the $105 tow I already have paid.
Chosen to speak with a supervisor and she again said it was my fault it's rusted and that the corrosion was the failure. Even after I explained I take worked in warranty and even seen the part myself. There was zero loss of shaft shape and I didn't striking anything. Of course it volition have surface rust after 4 years in Kansas weather with snow. Again she could accept cared less and said the claim is denied. These people are a fraud and will NOT cover your repairs like they say. This was my first and only merits presented in iv years almost. I would NEVER recommend these frauds to anyone and buyer beware!!!! Keep in mind I paid $2200 for this extended warranty. NOT worth it!!!

Worse feel I've had or witness buying a machine. Not fifty-fifty a week off the lot and my car was back in the shop for up to two months. Paint kept coming off, air purse light, multiple issues at one time throughout the summmer! HOWEVER, they offering yous a Maxcare plan that doesn't secure the customer. My engine goes out a year subsequently and MAXCARE gives me the run around for nigh one and half months. Merely to deny my merits... they would Not supervene upon my engine or pay for a rental while my car was existence fixed I had my maintenance receipts and everything. Why make a customer pay on time every month if they CANNOT use the service or warranty!! I would NOT recommend CarMax ESPECIALLY Maxcare to anyone! They are non for the customer!!

I chosen the provider to confirm a merits I would make to get an alternator replaced would be covered. The representative said yes and so went out of his style to tell me that all labor required to replace it would as well be covered. I learned this wasn't the case when I got the estimate for the repairs back from my mechanic. A few more telephone calls to the MaxCare provider later, I got to someone who told me honestly that labor up to a certain indicate is covered based on national labor allowances. I'll besides be looking for a new mechanic, simply I didn't appreciate someone going out of their way to lie to me about what's provided, particularly when the departure is a few hundred dollars. Getting to the bottom of upwards likewise sucked upward much of my work twenty-four hour period.

If I could give 0 stars I would. I would non recommend the MaxCare warranty to anyone. They talk a great game and hope you lot the moon when explaining everything it covers until y'all take information technology in for a "covered repair" and they deny the claim. The service guy called them, I called them, the service manager called them to explain the nature of the failure which should have been completely covered and all they would say is, "I'g lamentable. We are non going to cover it." REALLY... Don't buy this warranty, y'all will only go screwed in the end. Menses. Y'all will be better off taking the money and putting it in an business relationship....at least information technology will be worth that much when y'all need it. CarMax....y'all should be aback!! I will never buy another motorcar from you or let you con me into an extended warranty over again! And you can bet I'm going to tell anybody who volition listen about my experience...

My married woman and I purchased a Honda Odyssey and elected to purchase the top tier MaxCare warranty plan (a $50 deductible) because of the scope of the coverage. We used it to easily change an alternator about 9 months later without whatever issue. However, our van had a flashing check engine light come on about 6 weeks ago. The MaxCare warranty department decided that the work that needed to exist done would not be covered due to "lack of routine maintenance" even though we have all the records proving otherwise. The CarMax-certified repair facility we're using even agreed with our position and contacted MaxCare on our behalf and were told that the claim would exist denied (even though the reasons given were NOT routine maintenance items). Long story short - we may exist out at least $600 in repairs/labor because MaxCare has decided that they volition not award the warranty provided.

Maxcare has treated me horrible. My 09 Honda CRV has been in the honda dealership for 3 weeks going on four. They still havent approved my repair which is a faulty engine (I only had the car for a year). The only matter I got costless was a tow. I've been unable to pay my machine payment because I've been paying for Ubers and motorcar rentals for the by 4 weeks waiting for them to get things rolling. When you lot call to complain all they tell y'all is unfortunately this or unfortunately that. This is the worst feel. Carmax isnt treating me any better. Maxcare wont pay for your rental until they approve the repair (waiting on approval for a month now). They want honda to put in a clunker engine so I'll be in this state of affairs another yr from now. They don't pay for diagnostic tests unless they approve the repair. And I take a 300 dollar deductible. two words MAXCARE SUCKS.

I had called The CarCare number that was given to me by the Carmax guy. His name was Kenneth. Anyhow I telephone call the CarCare number and a lady answers. I explain to her the issue at mitt. That my car was serviced. And 2 weeks after that aforementioned trouble arose. I feel I should Non have to pay a 2d deductible. The car should had been stock-still the 1st time. While she's giving me the run effectually and stumbling over the lies she's telling me I ask to finally speak to her Supervisor.
I wanted a letter or an e-mail stating that Carcare will not help me with the waiver of the 2nd deductible. She nor the Supervisor never got dorsum to me. It has been 2 days now and no response. I paid over 3000 dollars for that warranty and they won't even work with me?! Nonsense. So you lot know what?..All of my future payments for the car...I am sending them your way. THEY DID Not Cover A PENNY.
They said they cover "merely mechanical issues." My condenser that needs to exist replaced is considered a mechanical issue. The role is a condenser radiator dual part pregnant it's sold as an assembly which is about $600 and they denied it. I'm not certain why it croaky but I told them peradventure I striking a rock or something and they said they wouldn't cover information technology because it wasn't a malfunction in the function. They need to practise an inspection earlier approving it merely why does an inspection demand to exist done if I was just told it won't exist covered because it wasn't a office failure? In the 3 years I've had their warranty, I oasis't used it in one case considering they didn't want to cover anything. As of today, I'm canceling my warranty because it'southward a WASTE OF MONEY and having the residue of the amount become towards my premium. It'south a freaking scam.

I bought the warranty for $3500 terminal yr. Right afterwards I had the MB SUV for one year, it started to accept lots of problems. In the concluding 3 month, I had transmission replaced $7000, starter, $1603.66, idler caster $681.56, engine mounts $2691.17. That's $12000 in full. All I have to pay is $500 deductible. Thanks God I still purchased the warranty after seeing the reviews on this website. Otherwise I might be crying right at present 'cause who knows how much I would demand to pay to get this machine repaired in the next few years.

We purchased a 2012 Nissan Rogue from CarMax, with the MaxCare Extended Warranty up to 100,000 miles. At 91,000 miles the car shook to a cease and went expressionless. Nosotros chosen MaxCare and they told u.s.a. they would embrace a wrecker and nosotros could send it to any repair shop that is authorized. I looked upward the nearest 1 and MaxCare stated they were approved. So we had it TOWED to that location.
The service shop diagnosed the problem every bit the radiator had blown out and leaked coolant into the engine causing the spark plugs to be fouled and dissentious the engine beyond repair. Maxcare paid to repair the radiator that acquired the problem, simply refused to pay for the engine. We called MaxCare several times trying to get an understanding as to why they are covering the part (radiator) that caused all the damage, only not the parts (engine) that were ruined equally a result.
MaxCare representatives first claimed that afterward the car stopped working on the mean solar day of the radiator being blown, nosotros continued to drive it, driving it to the repair facility. We pointed out that we did not drive it, and they are really paying for the TOW beak showing they towed it. They then transferred me to a "Supervisor" who stated that it wasn't because we collection information technology, but it was denied due to "Never having coolant in the vehicle EVER". Nosotros stated that is incommunicable and ridiculous over the life of any automobile to never accept coolant in it. We asked to see the inspector's report (that they sent) that they used to deny claim and they stated that it is "in business firm only" and won't release it.
We spoke to an attorney who then pointed out that in the warranty contract, we agreed to arbitration with MaxCare to resolve any issues, and to phone call Maxcare back and clarify the verbal reason information technology is being denied. We called dorsum a third time, and MaxCare again stated that nosotros collection the car to the repair shop (I again pointed out the wrecker charge). They then stated "The car has never had COOLANT, causing the radiator to blow out, which in plow caused COOLANT to leak into the engine". I pointed out the obvious mistake that coolant couldn't leak into the engine if it never had coolant in it.
I asked for the mistakes to exist inverse, and they stated no. I asked who fabricated these mistakes and who to contact near information technology. The "Supervisor" stated that there was no one to contact or to appeal to, and we would have to go alee with our option to go to arbitration. She stated she knew CarMax was being evasive, but there was no ane else for us to speak to about the obvious mistakes/lies.

It is very difficult to discover dealerships willing to take this. The closest i to the states is 45 minutes away. In that location isn't ane in our county or any surrounding nada codes to us. It would be nice if they would branch out. They also demand to improve their rental car policy. When I used my extended warranty last time they set up me up with a rental through Enterprise. My local Enterprise was out of cars. They did not take a contract with whatsoever other rental companies so I was forced to pay out of pocket at Hertz and get reimbursed subsequently a few weeks. It's great in theory, just needs improvements.

I was informed that the repair would non be covered nether MaxCare considering the total cost of previous repairs had reached the buy cost of the auto! In the last 2 years I have bought a 2014 Cadillac ATS and a 2009 VW Jetta from CarMax. I hesitantly bought the aftermarket warranty for both. Unfortunately, four months subsequently ownership my ATS it needed a $3700.00 rear differential replacement. Since I could go the service done at any mechanic I took it to the Cadillac dealer who gave me a loaner. The representative came and looked at my car and canonical the repair correct abroad.
Then my Jetta needed $4500.00 front end repair work. The warranty paid for my rental for v days, no expense to me. The repair piece of work was approved in one day. I but had to have the CUE replaced on the ATS, $1300.00. Again a loaner and no outcome getting approved at all. The warranty and the deductibles together so far have come up to $2600.00 and I have have had approx. $9000.00 repair piece of work done, excluding rental cars. I could not be happier with my investment in these warranties and volition never buy a used motorcar without one again. Happy guy here!

I run across many people with bad experiences with Maxcare on here. I am quite the opposite. I had to have major repairs fabricated on my 2011 A4. A known (Audi) oil consumption issue on the model and yr of my automobile that over fourth dimension damaged my pistons to the point that they needed to be replaced. For anyone that has always needed to replace their pistons you lot know it is a huge repair expense (around $6300 for an Audi A4) because of the required engine teardown! There were also 2 minor oil leaks that needed repairing (around $800.00). MaxCare approved the repairs within 2 hours of being requested. I was working with the Audi Dealership Service Department in Annapolis so these were repairs fabricated past Audi trained mechanics. The only caveat was to provide my service records to show that I was keeping up with the manufacturer recommended routine services (which I had been, thank Goodness).
I would say that I have gotten my money's worth with this warranty. I bought the 125k/6 twelvemonth warranty for around 4k and I am so glad that I did!!! It has paid for itself and then some and I can now rest like shooting fish in a barrel that I was merely out of pocket my deductible (which is pretty high at $500.00) but given the over 7k in repairs, I will gladly pay that in lieu of what information technology would have been. I still have 35k miles and almost two years left on this warranty. I truly hope that I do not need information technology, just if I do, I accept peace of mind knowing that I take information technology.

I had $18,000,00 in the car and all covered my Maxcare through CarMax. The repair shop owner screwed me and CarMax by putting ** parts in my Corvette. I started seeing the same problems xiii months later and the repair shop closed and took off with a lot of repair money. I called Maxcare and they told me because it was 13 months later they would pay again. The 2nd time was $12.000 in repairs and they paid 100% again. It is a great company. Perhaps it is because I had to go through an actual dealer for repairs vs. having Carmax do the repairs, merely my experience has been amazing. Within a calendar month of buying a Porsche Cayman, I developed a strange noise in the transmission. I took the car to my local Porsche dealer and, long story short, two months after my car has a new manual. I paid simply my $300 co-pay and Maxcare covered the remaining amount (nearly $10K) without blinking an eye. I would NOT recommend getting MaxCare. When buying a car from CarMax, they volition "force" MaxCare on y'all but concord your ground and refuse. If they're being aggressive with information technology, but tell them, "Tin we just proceed with the buy of the car please." Save that money and invest information technology in your own car insurance's comprehensive plan. It will salve you lot time, stress and money and provide you with a rental motorcar for the entire duration of your repair.
My car broke downwardly a month and a half agone and having the MaxCare Extended Warranty, I took my auto to the local CarMax Service Centre. After having the diagnostics, I was told by the technician that the car'southward upshot was with the alternator having voltage issues which damaged the battery (this was too stated on the technician's report). Seeing how alternator issues were covered by my warranty, I was shocked to hear that MaxCare denied my claim due to "battery issues" every bit they claimed that the battery was faulty and thus damaged my alternator.
I don't know if they were simply trying to take advantage of the fact that I am a college student who doesn't know much about cars but the fact that they lied to me about the crusade in society to weasel their mode out of having to pay for the repair was just appalling. I had to fight this for over two weeks by calling MaxCare and the Service Center every single business organisation day and miraculously, the technician and his manager somehow got the claim approved on the third calendar week.
Repairs took another week and my auto was due to be completed concluding Friday yet I am here on Monday being told by the technician that MaxCare has not yet responded to the work report he filed a week ago for the last part required for the repair. Oh and since my car has been literally sitting in the Service Center's garage for a calendar month, MaxCare was and so kind enough to provide me with just ane calendar week'south worth of car rental. Anything else is out of pocket. I capeesh everything that the technician from my local Service Heart did for me. He went above and across to really get me the help I needed only the deceit and the excessive delay that MaxCare displayed for the past month is simply unacceptable and unprofessional.

I purchased a Ford F150 with 35,722 miles nine/26/2017. I chose the sixty month 75,000 mile warranty. It is my sixth CARMAX purchase and 4th MAXCARE service contract. The harness melted nearly into at the positive battery terminal Monday September 10, 2018 and the truck won't start. I opened the hood and noticed the cable was melted most into. I wiggled the cable, got the truck started and took it home. After researching how to repair I noticed several YouTube videos on the subject. Manifestly this happens often. It is not a simple replacement of the connector.
Yous have to replace the entire harness and it has to be purchased from a Ford service middle. Planet Ford customer service agent Marcella ** contacted MAXCARE and they told her it was non covered. I and so contacted amanuensis Dale ** and he refused to allow the warranty because of negligence stating the battery corroded and burned the cablevision and batteries are not covered.
I countered that it is not the battery. Information technology is the cable and should be covered for the life of the warranty. Normal maintenance procedure has yous check under the hood once a month. This was done less than a month ago when information technology received the Texas State inspection for September 2019 forth with an oil alter and all fluids were checked likewise. There was not a problem with bombardment corrosion at that time. The positive battery cable connector is 1/sixteen inch thick and copper. It was entirely melted except for a 1/4 span. I maintain that I maintained proper maintenance verified by my recent Texas state inspection and this should be covered by warranty.

I but paid a deductible. Perhaps some folks don't realize that so many parts of a machine are wear parts, and warranty does not cover them?
